Beginner Volunteer Workday
Join us Sunday, September 20th for a seed collection day perfect for beginners. Why would seeds need to be collected in a Forest Preserve? What activities do volunteers do in other seasons? Come find out! We’ll meet at 9am at Carl Hansen Woods off of Rt 59, just north of Golf Road, in the first parking lot.
We will teach all you need to know for the day, including the species we’ll be picking that day. We’ll also provide any tools you may need, including gloves but you can bring your own gloves if you like. Wear comfortable shoes, long sleeves and long pants preferred. We’ll be walking thru the prairie so don’t wear anything “nice”.

The December 28th workday at Carl Hansen Woods is cancelled. It’s raining and the NWS predicts 90+% chance of rain all this morning. The wind speed is too low to start brush brush piles until at least 10 am.
